Old dress - new look

Dress - Calvin Klein - family gift
Jacket - 5 7 9 - thrifted
Shoes - Rocket Dog - Rack Room Shoes
Necklace, earrings - coworker gift
Ring-family gift

I wanted to give this dress a new look.  Previously I have worn this dress without a jacket, for today's look I added a jacket and covered a prominent gold detail on the dress with a double layer of turquoise and gold colored necklace. The shoes I chose to complete this outfit are neutral flats (I had to have a little break from heels).

Sea stones

Top - Spense - Marshall's
Skirt - Charlotte Russe - thrifted
Shoes - Masiero - Marshall's
Bracelet, necklace - antique family gift
Earrings - old

This necklace reminds me of broken pieces of glass that have been tumbled in the ocean water. I remember being fascinated as a child when I saw that something soft as water can change the form of something hard like glass. This necklace and bracelet used to be my aunt's, she bought them and wore them in the eighties. They are made of glass. I wanted to combine a variety of blue colors in one outfit.

Finift pendant

Dress - Limited - thrifted
Jacket - Soho Apparel LTD - Ross
Shoes - Xappeal - Rack Room Shoes
Necklace - family gift
Earrings - old

Happy Tuesday!! This pendant is made of mother of pearl with a special type of drawing on it. This art of painting came from the 1700's from a Russian city of Rostov, and it's called finift. My pendant drawing shows a river with a wooded area nearby. The fact that each piece is hand drawn makes pieces like that very unique. My aunt purchased this pendant while visiting Rostov about ten years ago. This technique is still very popular in Russia and is also used on jewerly boxes, watches and decorative plates.

School teacher

Top - Antilia Femme - old
Dress - Express - thrifted
Shoes - H&M
Bracelet - H&M
Watch - Marc Echo - Kohl's
Earrings - coworker gift

I hope you had a wonderful long three day weekend. We had a great time as a family this past weekend. This outfit reminds me of a classic image of a school teacher. I decided to add a leopard blouse to this business looking dress to soften it up and a floral bracelet.

Repurposed

Top - family gift
Skirt - made of dress
Shoes - Nine West - Marshall's
Necklace - family gift
Bracelet - Express - coworker gift

About six years ago I wore this as a dress to my husband's graduation presentation at a university as well as my sister's birthday party. Then it spend several years unworn in my closet, and then it possibly got another wear or two. This last winter I wore it under a light sweater and a jacket, so it looked like a skirt. But the front of he dress has a floral accent that if you put a blouse over it that's made of thin fabric or a tight fitting shirt, you could see it. So a couple of weeks ago my mom made it into a skirt. The fabric is very soft and stretchy, so I am excited to wear it as a skirt with different tops. Big thanks to my mom. The top is a gift from my sister, it's actually a very cool item. It's called an infinity top, there are multiple ways you can wear it. The way I wore it in today's post is the most work appropriate, but I can't wait to try it other ways as well.

Cobald blue and white

Good evening everyone!! I am so excited three-day weekend is around the corner. We don't have any solid plans, possibly a trip to the beach, we will see. Sometimes it's nice to not have anything planned and just be spontaneous.

Learning from mistakes

Dress - Rampage - Dillard's
Top - Xhilaration - thrifted
Shoes - Report - Ross
Earrings, necklace - antique, family gift

Hello everyone!! Just a quick post on an outfit from last week. I wanted to pair flat sandals with this dress to make it more work appropriate. Plus I threw on a loose top to make this dress more like a skirt, but I didn't realize that the shirt is that see thru. Oh well, we learn from our mistakes, right?

Rose gold

Top -  borrowed from the better half's side of the closet
Jacket - Golden State Taylors - Macy's
Jeans - Ralph Lauren - Macy's
Shoes - Adrienne Vittadini - TJ Maxx
Gold earrings and necklace set, leopard necklace - family gift

I wore this very neutral outfit last week. These Ralph Lauren jeans have a little blue color to them but otherwise everything else is beige, creme and nude. The topaz necklace and topaz earrings are made of Russian gold. Here in the US this color would be called rose gold or pink gold, but in Russia this is more of a normal gold and the more yellow gold to us is foreign gold.  I think they are both very pretty colors.
