DIY necklace

Shirt - Forever21 - family gift
Jeans - Style&co - Macy's
Vest - family gift
Shoes - Unlisted - Shoe Carnival
Earring - Express - coworker gift
Necklaces - diy

I am not much of do it yourself when it comes to jewelry, but I decided to give it a try and recycle some  chains that used to be part of my sandals, yes you read it correctly, sandals. My  Steve Madden black leather flat sandals with lots of chains broke, the zipper wouldn't open anymore. So I decided to cut off all chain parts from the sandals, then I washed all the metal with some soapy water and connected them into two different necklaces by chain type. This is what it looks like.

Southern autumn

Light mint top - Express - thrifted
Seagreen cardigan - Weekenders - thrifted
Dark gray jeans - Mossimo - Target
Gray pumps - H&M
Earrings, pearl ring, scarf - family gift
White gold topaz bracelet, white gold amethyst bracelet - family gift

Hello everybody. I hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend. I know I am. We have already put up our Christmas tree. From what I have learned from living here in the US, Florida is not really considered the South when it comes to culture or food, but geographically it's still the most southern state. That why I call it a southern autumn, just to be clear. I enjoy wearing just a cardigan and a light scarf, and not have to be completely bundled up at the end of November, I think a lot of people would agree with me on that one.  Right now my home town is experiencing a -31F for comparison's sake.

From Russia with love

Black Sweater - H&M
Coat - thrifted
Shoes - H&M
Scarf - Russian - family gift
Tights, ring - family gift from Russia
Bracelet - Macy's
Watch - Relic - Kohl's

The scarf complements the little black sweater dress perfectly, but it was a little too chilly for just the dress, so I added a light coat and a pair of tights. Plus I would have never worn this sweater dress with bare legs to work, therefore the tights were a must. And to be completely honest I thought the tight were non-sheer. The scarf, tights and ring are all from Russia. These vivid and characterful scarves were once a necessity for innumerous villagers and city dwellers of then Old Russia and the Russian Empire, and were used as a means to dress up, to keep warm and even to show one’s social and marital status. Their various embroideries, prints and fabrics served as an indicator of wearer’s background and place of origin, as initially those scarves were produced at home and varied from village to village. Above all, those scarves were a much-loved family treasure to pass on from generation to generation.

Thanksgiving inspiration outfits

White sweater - family gift from Russia
Black dress - Calvin Klein - family gift
Shoes - Unlisted - Shoe Carnival
Tights - family gift
Gold and black scarf - old
Bracelet, earrings - family gift from Russia

While we had a cold spell last week for a couple of days, I had a chance to wear some of my thicker sweaters and tights. This particular one is loose enough to wear a dress under it, so I took advantage of it and did just that. Adding some gold and black accessories made this outfit more dressed up, I love it.

Roll up sleeves

Shirt - PortAuthority - work provided uniform
Skirt - Banana Republic
Shoes -Natural Soul - TJMaxx
Necklace - old
Watch - family gift
Earrings - coworker gift

This is a work outfit I wore last week. I love wearing heels but time to time I like to wear a flat pair of shoes such as today's outfit. This button down is a company shirt with an outdated logo that's at the bottom of the sleeve. I rolled up the sleeves not because of the outdated logo but because I like the look of it. Which was do you wear your sleeves?
