A year and a half ago I found this Ann Taylor skirt for under two dollars, yes that's right under two US dollars. So far I have worn it 1 2 3 4 5 other times since staring this blog, but since I purchased it before the blog, I probably worn it even more times. I discovered thrift store shopping after I had my first child. I went back to work six weeks after childbirth and I needed some clothing that would work for my body that wasn't all the way back to its pre-pregnancy shape. I used some maternity clothes at first, but I also needed tops that were convenient for nursing. I used to go home for lunch to see my baby and have more time with him. My wonderful family stayed with the baby at home until he turned one. I needed a variety of shirts that were colorful or had pattern (those who nursed know that a tiny spot can look awful and I didn't want to change my top half way through the day) and preferably were button down shirts or blouses. With that thought in mind I decided that since it's a temporary situation, I could get some patterned shirts from a thrift store and then just throw them away or donate them after I was done nursing. That plan worked really well with both of my children. As I was getting back to my pre-pregnancy body, I was excited to start dressing up again. That's when I kept on going back to thrift stores in addition to shopping at regular stores. Do you shop at thrift stores or have an interesting story about a thrifted item?
P.S. Thank you Angie for featuring me this week on your site.
